Done deal: Chelsea target complete transfer, will undergo medicals soon

Chelsea have missed out on signing Anderlecht’s highly-rated midfielder Youri Tielemans as reports from the Sun claimed the Belgian star has signed a deal with Ligue 1 heavyweight Monaco.

Chelsea boss Antonio Conte is planning to bolster the Premier League champions following the addition of Champions League football to their cause next season and has been on the trail of the 20-year-old.

The London club were also ready to beat league rivals Man United and Everton to his signature but Le Soir, a reporting outfit in Belgium now claimed the wonder-kid has agreed a £21.2 million five-year
contract with Monaco and he will undergo medical in the coming weeks.

Tielemans has had an impressive season with Anderlecht, who is currently topping the Belgian league with two points ahead of Club Brugge. He is in the race to snap up the Belgian Golden shoe after netting 17 goals and providing 10 assists in all competitions this season.

His transfer fee has made him the most expensive player signed from a Belgian side, smashing Marouane Fellaini’s £15 million move from Standard Liege to Everton in 2008.

In the light of that, Antonio Conte will have to look towards other targets in his bid to strengthen Chelsea squad ahead of next season. He has enough transfer kitty to spend in this summer transfer window to make that happen.
