Forget Morata: Man United want to complete deal of $239,000-a-week attacker

Jose Mourinho’s search for a top-class striker has seen him been linked with Real Madrid forward James Rodriguez.

The Manchester United boss in keen on bolstering the final third of his side who struggled in front of goals last season. Mourinho has been left frustrated following his efforts to get a striker not being fruitful so far.

However, after the reports of “almost done deals” for Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata this week, yet with noting coming out of them, the Old Trafford has been linked with Rodriguez, as per reports coming
from the Spanish media.

The Colombian international has been frustrated with life at the Santiago Bernabeu after finding himself behind the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema.

The 25-year-old forward is desperate to leave the Champions League winners and Spanish publications Don Balon and Diario Gol claim the former Monaco star prefers a switch to the Theatre of Dreams.

The links also report that an agreement has been reached between Man United and Rodriguez remaining only the transfer fee to be agreed on, with United willing to pay €40 million as against €60 million being
demanded by the La Liga champions.

Rodriguez is currently on a contract of $239,000 which will not expire until 2020 with the Spanish giants. He scored 11 goals and assisted a further 13 in all competitions for Real. He will bring the lacking
cutting edge into United attack.
