Real Madrid forward Alvaro Morata could be few hours away from becoming a Manchester United player, according to report from Marca .

United boss Jose Mourinho has been on the lookout for a new striker following the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic whose contract expired at the end of last season.

Talks are said to have reached an advanced stage between the Madrid and United but that was not to be until the Europa League winners were forced to add extra £5 million to their initial offer of £70 million which was rejected by the La Liga champions.

Real president Florentino Perez had demanded £80 million for the striker but could be willing to make do with the £75 million, with Spanish newspaper Marca reporting that a deal could be completed today.

Morata has been nursing a move away from the Spanish giants after failing to nail down a regular place under Zinedine Zidane and reportedly wants a move to Old Trafford where there is a guarantee of
him being the first choice striker at the club.

Despite starting just 18 matches, the 24-year-old scored 20 goals last season as the Los Blancos won the Spanish League and the Champions League.

Morata will be a good signing for United. He is a complete striker,  strong on the ball, has energy and pace, and also lethal in the air.
