Man United boss Jose Mourinho is planning to revamp his squad ahead of next season as they challenge for title on all fronts. The Old Trafford outfits have been linked with a number of top players across Europe but they are also looking to boost their youth system.
That being said, the Europa League winners are said to be on the verge of signing one of the exciting prospects in Europe, Roberto Gonzalez from Spanish club Real Betis, according to report from Sport Witness.
Man United were earlier linked with Espanyol wonder-kid Arnau Pugmal but there hasn’t been much update concerning that and it appears United have switched their attention to Gonzalez as Mundo Deportivo claimed the Prodigy could move to Old Trafford this summer.
The 16-year-old has been rated as one of the best young talents in Spain and has attracted interests from England with Man United and Man City vying for his signature.
But reports claim Jose Mourinho has pipped Pep Guardiola to his signature as they plan to increase their European recruitments and are expected to pay compensation to Real Betis.
The forward who earned his call-up to the Spanish U-16 side last September will join Man United’s academy where he will be under the tutelage of former Reds player Nicky Butt.
There are also reports that the teenager had already visited Man United’s Carrington’s training base. Gonzalez can play as a main striker and he is also comfortable on both legs.
