Forget Bakayoko – Chelsea hold talks in London over possible move for ace

Chelsea manager, Antonio Conte has shifted his attention from signing Monaco defensive midfielder, Tiemoue Bakayoko after growing frustrated about the long drawn nature of the transfer, according to report from Metro.

The Italian has reportedly set his sights on signing Lyon midfielder, Corentin Tolisso who is reportedly available for around £20m, as they look to retain their Premier League title next season and make a good statement in the UEFA Champions League.

Cesc Fabregas is rumored to be close to an exit away from Stamford Bridge, after becoming disillusioned with his bit part role this season, and was saddened by being benched in the Fa Cup Final against former club, Arsenal last month.

Tolisso has been in fantastic form all season, scoring 14 times and making his France debut earlier this year. Chelsea are willing to sign the player as he fits the mould of Conte: fearless, combative and versatile.

The 22-year-old is reportedly willing to leave Lyon, as he is keen on Champions League football. Arsenal are also keen on his signature, but their lack of premium European competition means that Chelsea are in the driving seat.

Chelsea could also use the sweetener of sending Kurt Zouma on loan to broker any deal. The defender failed to return to the Chelsea first team after recovering from a serious knee injury this season, and ahead of the 2018 World Cup next summer, is keen on playing regularly to stand a chance of making the French squad for the mundial.

The 22-year-old Tolisso is a midfielder capable of playing in all central midfield positions. He has good passing range, can tackle fairly and can score goals. He has made 160 appearances for the club since breaking into the side in 2013, and has cored 29 goals.
