Forget Griezmann – Mourinho want to seal deal for Real hero, as Griezmann snub club

Manchester United are reportedly willing to step up their pursuit of Real Madrid play-maker, James Rodriguez. The Red Devils have shifted their attention to the play maker after being snubbed by Antoine Griezmann.

Griezmann has long been linked to a move to Old Trafford, but following Atletico Madrid’s failure to rescind their transfer ban, is now set to stay at Wanda Metropolitano and fight for the major trophies next season.

Mourinho is now willing to raid Real Madrid for the signing of James, who was left out of the Champions League final squad by Zinedine Zidane, a decision which all but confirmed his exit from the Santiago Bernabeu.

James, who has still impressed despite his limited playing time is wanted by Mourinho to add more bite to his attacking midfield department, which for majority of the season, looked bereft of ideas despite the presence of Juan Mata and Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

James shares the same agent as Mourinho, which means that any brokering of any deal won’t prove to be such a difficult thing, and his ambition to prove himself at another big club will fuel his desire to move to United, who were linked to him prior to his move from Porto to Monaco back in 2013.

James is a classy attacking midfielder, capable of playing behind the striker and also on the flanks. Since joining after a fantastic World Cup campaign in 2014 for Colombia, he has scored 36 goals in 110 matches, winning the La Liga and 2 Champions League titles in 3 years.
