Speculations linking Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin with a return to Barcelona has refused to die down but his Gunners team mate Lucaz Perez believes that Bellerin is staying at the club beyond this
The right-back has been consistently linked with a return to his boyhood club in the last two seasons, he put pen to paper on a new six-year contract worth £100,000 per week last year November to fend
off interest from Barcelona, but the Spanish giants are making frantic efforts to lure him back to Nou Camp this summer.
Barcelona has been in dire need of a competent full-back to fill up the right-back position once occupied by Dani Alves before he left to `1join Italian giants Juventus, and the performances of Aleix Vidal and
Sergio Roberto this season have been far from being impressive.
But Perez believes Bellerin has a future at the club. As per IBTimes, the forward said:
“In the world of football you never know what can happen, but he has just signed a new deal and I think he will continue in London because he is very happy here, he has been here many years, his family lives with him and he is happy at Arsenal.”
“Furthermore, he is a player with a long future ahead at the club. I do not think that he is going to leave but it is clear that not every day Barcelona knocks on your door. It will be very difficult [for him
to leave Arsenal].””
The Spanish defender moved to the Emirates Stadium in 2011 joi Barcelona, aged 15 and has established himself as one of the best right-backs in the world.
