Almost done: Chelsea to finally confirm first signing in 8 days

Days into the summer transfer opening, Chelsea is just closing in on announcing Willy Caballero as the club’s first summer signing.

The Argentine is set to join Antonio Conte Squad as their backup Goalkeeper; and will be taking the place of Asmir Begovic who left for Bornemouth.

Caballero was in and out of the City team last year after Joe Hart was sent out on loan to Torino and Claudio Bravo struggled in his first season in the Club.

A Report from Sportsreview claims that The Blues are on the verge of wrapping up a deal to bring the goalkeeper to Stamford Bridge this summer.

Another report claim last week that the deal will be officially announce on the 1st of July, so we might have to take this with a pitch of salt and see what happens by then.

Despite reports Linking Chelsea to many Players in Europe this summer; the Premier League Champions are yet to confirm the arrival of any new players this summer as Conte prepares his team for a return to the Champions League next season.

The blues have been linked with a host of players, with the North Londoners manager having Everton Romelu Lukaku and Real Madrid Alvaro Morata on his prime list.

On the other hand, Chelsea are schedule to be playing Arsenal as there first pre-season match and this may be an opportunity for the Blues to take revenge of the 2-1 lost to the Gunners at the FA Cup finals.
