Deal close: Chelsea are close in completing transfer for ace, medicals this week

Chelsea are close to agreeing a deal with Bournemouth over the transfer of Asmir Begovic to the Cherries this summer, according to report from Daily Mail.

Begovic who moved to Stamford Bridge from Stoke City in July 2015 on a four-year deal has found playing time hard to come by at the club as he has to settle for a place behind number 1 choice keeper Thibaut Courtois.

He was expected to the leave the Premier League champions in January but the move fell through and now as per the Daily Mail, Chelsea have agreed to a deal said to be in the region of £15 million for the
shot-stopper.

Begovic who is keen to move on in search of regular first-team football is set to agree personal terms while a medical has been scheduled for this week.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international had previously played for Bournemouth when they were in League one in 2007, making eight appearances for them.

Begovic made only 33 appearances for Chelsea across all competitions in the last two seasons and despite playing just twice in the league for the London club last season, he has the Premier League title as one of the trophies he won at the club.

The Cherries fans will be excited about the deal as they will be getting a top goalkepper in the 29-year-old and he is expected to compete for the number 1 spot with Artur Boruc at the Vitality Stadium.
