Sky Sport journalist confirms Man United’s interest in these defenders – Fans will like this

Sky Sports journalist, Kaveh Solkehol has claimed on Twitter, the social media platform that Jose Mourinho has drawn up a list of targets to enhance the team for next season in the central defence department.

The Portuguese is reportedly looking at the trio of Michael Keane, Virgil Van Dijk and Benfica’s Victor Lindelof, and Solhekol believes one of them will be moving to Old Trafford in the summer to kick start the summer recruitment drive. Keeane, who currently plays for Burnley will be the cheapest at around £25m and given his ties with the club, looks the most likely to join the 20-time English champions.

The England international was deemed surplus to requirements under Louis Van Gaal and was sold to Burnley for around £2m but has grown in stature under Sean Dyche at the club, and has made his international debut for England, which has led the Old Trafford outfit to take notice of his development.

Van Dijk will be a more expensive acquisition, but with the presence of Eric Bailly, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Daley Blind, is viewed as too expensive to capture given the talents already at the club. The Southampton defender is rated as one of the best centre backs in the country, but will cost upwards of £50m.

Limdelof, 22 is a Swedish defender who was close to a move to The Theatre of Dreams in January, but is believed Mourinho pulled the plug on the deal, as Benfica preferred to deal in the summer. He is also wanted by Chelsea and Inter Milan.
